Praia Pop will host the fifth edition of the Beach Volleyball Pop Masters Tournament on September 12 and 13. The event closes the master beach volleyball season in Portugal and is expected to have the presence of Prime Minister Luís Montenegro, who has attended since the first edition of the tournament.
The tournament will bring together 16 teams, composed of 32 invited athletes aged between 30 and 60 years old. The competition will take place on four courts, where 36 games will be played, from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM on Saturday and from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM on Sunday.
A particularity of this event is that some of the invited players have never practiced the sport at a federated level. The organization emphasizes that the main objective is to provide a weekend of fellowship and sporting spirit, although the competitive aspect is always present.
The tournament draw is scheduled for September 6, at 5:00 PM, at Praia Pop. According to Filipe Rocha, a member of the organization, the essence of the tournament lies in the opportunity for pairs that have never played at a federated level to enjoy a healthy competition that promotes fellowship and entertainment among all participants.
