Benfica is preparing to proceed with the contract renewals of Anatoliy Trubin and Samuel Soares, in a decision that represents a change of plans regarding the Ukrainian goalkeeper. The intention of the red-and-white structure is to extend the link of both players. In Trubin's case, the decision gains particular relevance, as the numerous-time international was pointed to leaving the Luz throughout practically the entire transfer market. Benfica sought a solution for the player but received no offers, a scenario that contributed to the change in strategy.
Trubin was the undisputed starter in the red-and-white goal for the last three seasons, but the scenario changed with the arrival of Marco Silva. The Portuguese coach has been backing Samuel Soares, who recently assumed the starting role, relegating the Ukrainian to a secondary position in the hierarchy. Despite the loss of prominence, Benfica now intends to secure Trubin and prepare a solution that benefits both parties.
