Delcy Rodríguez claimed that the Venezuelan electrical system is being sabotaged, at a time when questions arise about oil agreements in the country.
According to Venezuela's Vice President, the electrical system faces problems due to a combination of factors, including increased demand resulting from growth in energy consumption and high temperatures.
Rodríguez also pointed to the existence of sabotage by what she called "extremist mafias," blaming these supposed organizations for the problems in electricity supply.
The statement comes in a context of political and economic tension in Venezuela, where recently negotiated oil agreements have been generating controversy both domestically and internationally.
