Mozambique: attack destroys camp linked to Carlos Queiroz and causes one dead

An armed incursion in Niassa province, Mozambique, destroyed a camp linked to Portuguese football coach Carlos Queiroz. The attack caused the death of at least one person and left around two thousand displaced in the region.

The camp was part of a tourism project associated with Carlos Queiroz, known for having coached national teams such as Portugal, Iran, and Colombia, as well as Mozambique's national team. The project aimed at tourism development in the Niassa region.

The incursion caused estimated damages of millions of euros to the project. Mozambican authorities have not yet disclosed details about the perpetrators of the attack or the exact circumstances of the incident.

Niassa is a province located in northern Mozambique, a region that has faced security challenges in recent years. This episode represents another chapter in the instability affecting certain areas of the country.
