Vendas Novas is celebrating the 64th anniversary of its elevation to municipality with the Municipal Festivities, which run until September 7 at the new Fair and Market Park. The event, which featured the presence of the Secretary of State for Local Administration, Silvério Regalado, and the municipal mayor, Ricardo Videira, combines tradition, gastronomy, culture, sports and music. The highlight goes to the bifana, the gastronomic symbol of the municipality, with the preparation of the world's largest bifana, measuring 20 meters in length. The mayor defended the privileged location of Vendas Novas, between the tranquility of the Alentejo and proximity to Lisbon, and announced projects for housing, paving and school requalification. The music lineup includes Bárbara Tinoco, Miguel Gameiro & Pólo Norte and Marisa Liz.
