Edilson Takahara, 49 years old, has been working as a bricklayer since 2010 and won a full scholarship for the Law course at a college in Manaus, in the state of Amazonas. The bricklayer went viral after making his own oral argument during the trial of a labor case, impressing the judge with his argumentation. Last Thursday, he had his first day of class at the college.
Edilson was born in the northern part of the state of Paraná, in the city of Uraí, and at age 5 moved with his family to Bandeirantes, where he attended school for the first time. According to him, he was always a dedicated student, never missed class, and his classmates competed to have him in their school work groups.
The bricklayer stated that his learning is useful all the time, demonstrating that the knowledge acquired over the years was fundamental for him to manage to defend himself alone in a courtroom and, subsequently, secure the opportunity to study Law.
