From CPF to Rock in Rio: how Oli Sykes, from Bring Me The Horizon, became almost Brazilian

Oli Sykes will take the Rock in Rio stage this Saturday as the vocalist of one of the main metal bands today. But, before facing the Mundo Stage, at 9:20 PM, the 39-year-old British singer has already made a less predictable trajectory in Brazil: he married a Brazilian woman, started living in the countryside and on the coast of São Paulo, got a CPF, regularized his stay in the country, had twin children, and started attending even Carnival blocos.

Sykes has been married since 2017 to Brazilian model Alissa Salls, who also built a musical career under the name Alissic. The two met when she worked as a model on a project for Drop Dead Clothing, the clothing brand created by the musician. After the marriage, Brazil became a frequent presence in the artist's life.

The relationship that started through personal life ended up mixing with the recent history of Bring Me The Horizon, the band that is preparing to perform for a Brazilian audience at one of the biggest music festivals in the world.
