Nuria Montes, Secretary General of Hosbec: return to origins after the Konsell and the dana

El Periódico Mediterráneo - General5 September 2026 at 05:00

Nuria Montes, Secretary General of Hosbec, the business hotel association of the Valencian Community, faces a return to public life after two significant events: her participation in the Konsell government and the dana (isolated depression at high levels). The association describes these two tragedies as the yin and yang of her public life.

Montes does not hesitate to state that her greatest challenge was overcoming the health crisis caused by the covid pandemic. This situation led to the immediate closure of all hotels in the region and the urgent need to repatriate 50,000 foreign clients.

In addition to this health crisis, Montes also worked hard and successfully to ensure that member companies managed to survive the pandemic period and arrived, in general terms, stronger during these summers of record tourism.

With her return to the leadership of Hosbec, Montes now faces a new chapter in her career, after having demonstrated her leadership capacity in moments of great difficulty for the Valencian hotel sector.

The 'never-ending work' of the Mediterranean corridor still has no date for its commissioning: Adif explains the reasons

The Mediterranean railway corridor continues without a defined date for commissioning, with Adif explaining the reasons for the delays. The start of the school year is directly affecting the number of passengers on Cercanías services between Castelló and València on line C6. Renfe announced that during this month, up to seven additional services will be gradually implemented, even using second-hand trains from the Civia 465 model, coming from Cercanías services in Madrid, which in some cases are already more than two decades old, which has generated controversy.
