Victor Froholdt shows no anomalies in the examinations carried out after suffering a concussion during the match between FC Porto and Desportivo das Aves, for the fifth round of the Portuguese Primeira Liga. The Danish midfielder lost consciousness after being struck in the head by Guilherme Liberato in the closing moments of the match.
The incident occurred on Friday, when FC Porto were playing at home in the opening of the fifth round of the national championship. The Porto side secured victory in that match, but the most striking moment was the confrontation between the two players.
After the impact, Victor Froholdt lay unconscious on the pitch and required immediate medical attention. The player subsequently underwent medical examinations which revealed no anomalies, representing positive news for both the club and the player himself.
Guilherme Liberato, the author of the challenge that caused the concussion, was sent off with a straight red card during the episode. The Desportivo das Aves player saw the red card still during the tense moments on the pitch, leaving his team reduced to ten men for the remainder of the match.
