Carneiro accuses Government of profiting from fuel prices

José Luís Carneiro, PS leader, accused the Montenegro Government of profiting from the rise in fuel prices in Portugal. During a rally in Póvoa de Varzim, the socialist leader stated that Portuguese people need to be aware that the Executive is making money from this situation.

The PS leader directed harsh criticism at the prime minister, accusing him simultaneously of incompetence and insensitivity regarding the impact of fuel prices on the pockets of Portuguese citizens.

This accusation comes in the context of a sharp rise in fuel prices, which has deeply affected the cost of living in Portugal and generated great pressure on families.

Carneiro's intervention in Póvoa de Varzim is part of the PS's strategy to stake out a political position and pressure the Government over its handling of the energy crisis and cost of living.
