Vila Nova de Tazem, in the municipality of Gouveia, hosts between September 25 and 27 the VII edition of the Gastronomic Fair "A Alambicada", an event that celebrates local gastronomic tradition and has as its star dish the Alambicada. The organization is done in coordination with the associations and local groups of the village, with restaurant Cunha's, under the coordination of chef António Cunha, providing the meal service during the three days. Friday, September 25, starts with a parade by Bombo Juvenil/CAJ, reception of official entities to the sound of the concertinas of the Folk Dance Group of Vila Nova de Tazem and official opening at 7:45 PM, followed by performances by the Trio Classe Média and DJ Garruda.
Saturday, September 26, features activities including the ritual of preparing the pots and sealing the fire in the morning, wine tastings guided by António Teixeira, showcooking with chef Ana Sanchez and tasting of a giant king cake from Pastelaria Pão de Deus. The evening features the Philharmonic Band of Vila Nova de Tazem, the Tempo Band and DJ Karioka.
Sunday, September 27, closes the event with performances by saxophonist Daniel Abrantes, the Ballet and Dance School of the Reencontro Association, showcookings with chefs Paulo Silva and Paulo Cardoso, blind wine tasting with Carlos and Micaela Ferreira, and entertainment with DJ Moreira, ending with the official closing at 10:00 PM. The event takes place at Rua Dr. António Mendes, n.º 94.
