Póvoa Andebol Clube hosts Benfica at the Municipal Pavilion this Saturday at 6:30 PM, in the first home game of the season. The match puts the poveira side up against one of the historic clubs of national handball.
Carlos Resende's team debuted in the championship with a last-second defeat in Braga, losing 32–31 at the Flávio Sá Leite pavilion. The game was closely contested and the poveiros were in position several times to fight for a different result.
Benfica arrives in Póvoa after defeating Águas Santas 34–23, which allows them to start this second round with a classification advantage. For Póvoa Andebol Clube, the return to the Municipal represents the opportunity to compete in front of their home crowd and try to earn their first points after the defeat in the opening round.
