The Vortex Hybrid Games return to Portimão on September 19, three months after their debut in the city, at an event that expects to mobilize 1,250 athletes. The hybrid fitness modality combines running, strength, endurance and functional exercises, with the course including seven functional stations interspersed with running, ending with a final 200-meter sprint.
Participation is open to the general public across different categories, including individual, doubles and groups of four people, with circuits adapted to various age groups. Children from the age of eight can participate solo or in doubles, and family registration is also available for the younger athletes. Registration is still open.
The Municipality of Portimão revealed that the first edition of the event, in June, attracted 890 athletes, representing a 137% increase compared to the event held in February in Lagos, which had 375 participants. Two more initiatives are planned by the end of the year, one in Albufeira on October 25 and another in Vila Real de Santo António on December 12.
Tickets for the public cost 4.98 euros and can be purchased online or on-site, with children under 13 receiving free entry. The initiative has Decathlon as Equipment Partner.
