Former employees of Julio Iglesias sue him in the National Court for sexual assault

El Periódico Mediterráneo - General4 September 2026 at 16:53

The former employees of Julio Iglesias who reported the singer to the Public Prosecutor's Office in 2021 for alleged harassment and sexual assault have now filed a criminal complaint with the National Court.

The former employees decided to take this step after the Public Prosecutor's Office dismissed their initial complaint, considering that Spanish courts were not competent to investigate the case.

The complaint was filed with the National Court, the court competent to judge certain crimes of special gravity, such as sexual assaults. The process now awaits the next legal steps.
