Benfica to face Arsenal and Bayern in the Champions League

Glorioso 1904 – Se é notícia do Benfica, está aqui4 September 2026 at 16:20

Benfica will face Arsenal and Bayern Munich in the Women's Champions League, in a draw that placed the red and whites before a highly demanding challenge. The Portuguese side, currently in 12th place in the European ranking and six-time national champions, will measure themselves against two top 5 continental teams, in a group that also includes Roma, Juventus, Austria Wien and Køge.

Roma and Juventus appear above the eagles in the European ranking, while Austria Wien and Køge are considered theoretically more accessible opponents. Arsenal occupies fifth place in the ranking, just one position below Bayern Munich.

The English side are European champions, having won the trophy in 2006/07, still in the old competition format, and lifted the title again two seasons ago, in a final played in Lisbon.

Benfica's record against Bayern Munich is not favorable. The two teams have already faced each other on four occasions, with the Germans having the upper hand in the head-to-head record.
