The reference framework of Portugal's National Health Service (SNS) predicts that family doctor coverage will remain stagnant at 85.3% until 2028. This forecast appears within the context of a strategic planning document for the Portuguese public health system.

According to the same reference framework, the SNS should have more than 160,000 workers by 2028. This number represents the expected workforce for the health service, although the stagnation in family doctor coverage suggests challenges in healthcare delivery capacity.
