Benfica's signing makes waves: "Echeverri is a mix of Maradona and Messi"

Benfica secured Claudio Echeverri as the latest signing of this transfer window. The young Argentine arrived at the Luz on loan from Manchester City, but the eagles have the possibility to secure his permanent signing with an investment of 21 million euros. The club has high expectations for the player.

Daniel Brizuela, the River Plate official who discovered Echeverri when he was still taking his first steps on a dirt field, spoke about the new encarnado signing to the newspaper 'O Jogo'. Brizuela did not hold back on his praise for the young Argentine, stating he is "a talent that wins games, a mix of Maradona and Messi".

According to Brizuela, Echeverri has all the conditions to become a top player in Europe. The official believes the Argentine needs to play "without shackles" to express all his potential, which makes him "very hard to control".
