The president of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), Minister Nunes Marques, stated this Friday (4) that the Electoral Justice does not choose winners, does not interfere in popular choice, and has no preference for any candidacy. The statement was made during a ceremony at the TSE, where the minister declared that Brazilian institutions must bow to popular sovereignty.
During the event, Nunes Marques stated that the Electoral Justice will work to ensure that each voter can define the country's direction over the next four years. The pronouncement comes amid a crisis at the Supreme Federal Court (STF) involving Ministers André Mendonça and Alexandre de Moraes.
The ceremony marked the digital signing and sealing of electoral systems. During the event, the TSE also concluded the compilation of electoral ads, a stage that brings together the code and other components necessary to generate the versions of the systems that will be used in the elections.
The sealing procedure is part of the preparation steps for the upcoming elections, aimed at guaranteeing the security and integrity of the systems that will be used in the Brazilian electoral process.
