The IgNobel prize ceremony took place this year outside the United States for the first time in over 30 years. The reason for this change in location is related to the hostile climate towards science and the entry of foreigners in the country.
Among this year's winners are investigations that sought to define kissing, created anti-splash urinals and studied the act of stepping on snakes. These studies were distinguished by their peculiar and humorous scientific approach.
The IgNobel prizes are awarded annually to investigations that first make people laugh and then think, celebrating discoveries that, although unconventional, contribute to scientific knowledge in unexpected ways.
