The number of dead in a ferry sinking off the coast of Cyprus has risen to 12, according to the Turkish Ministry of Defense.

The search operations for the 16 people who remain missing are being supported by seven ships and six aircraft.

The Turkish Ministry of Defense is coordinating the searches in the region where the accident occurred.
