The municipality of Vendas Novas, in the district of Évora, once again challenged the limits of gastronomy by preparing a 20-meter-long bifana with cheese. This feat surpasses the previous attempt in 2024, when a 15-meter bifana was made.
The event was organized as a way to promote the region and Portuguese gastronomic tradition. The bifana is a typical dish of the country, consisting of marinated and grilled slices of pork, usually served inside a bread roll.
The initiative also aims to attract visitors and boost the local economy, demonstrating the community's ability to organize large-scale events. The gastronomic "monster" was prepared with the collaboration of various members of the local community.
The 20-meter bifana represents a milestone in Vendas Novas' tradition and positions the municipality as a reference location for unique gastronomic events.
