The Lisbon City Council inaugurated in Largo da Oliveirinha, on Calçada da Glória, a memorial to the 16 fatal victims of the Glória Funicular derailment, which occurred on September 3, 2025, exactly one year earlier. Throughout the day, Lisbon residents and tourists paid tribute at the site, while trade unionists and colleagues of the brakeman André Marques laid flowers on Calçada da Glória. Investigations by the Public Prosecutor's Office and GPIAAF continue, with the final report expected in 2027 and compensation already paid by insurer Fidelidade totaling 2.3 million euros.
