Casa das Mudas, a cultural space located in Calheta, on the Island of Madeira, is in the running to be part of the National Grand Final of the New 7 Wonders of Portugal. The competition is scheduled for tomorrow, September 5th.
Casa das Mudas' candidacy competes in the category "21st Century - Contemporary Architecture", which recognizes modern architectural works created at the beginning of the new millennium.
Casa das Mudas was built in the early 2000s and has become a cultural landmark of the region, serving as a center for exhibitions and artistic activities. Its contemporary architecture, integrated into the landscape of Calheta, is one of its distinctive features.
This is not the first time Madeira has been represented in this competition. In previous editions, Casa das Mudas itself has already been a finalist, demonstrating the relevance of this structure to contemporary Portuguese architectural heritage.
