Kassab and Tarcísio deny participation in alleged bribe deal mentioned by Vorcaro

The national president of PSD, Gilberto Kassab, and the governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas, denied any involvement in an alleged bribe deal mentioned by former banker Daniel Vorcaro in a plea deal proposal. According to reporting by portal UOL, Vorcaro claims that five million reais donated to Tarcísio's and Jair Bolsonaro's campaigns in 2022 would be listed as financial counterparts of an alleged bribe deal with Kassab.

The values were divided into two million reais destined for Tarcísio's campaign and three million for Bolsonaro's campaign. The donations were formally made by Fabiano Zéttel, Vorcaro's brother-in-law, who is under investigation in Operation Compliance Zero. According to the account attributed to the former banker, the objective of the alleged deal would be to maintain Credcesta's operations in the Tarcísio government, a payroll discount card administered by a company linked to Banco Master.

Tarcísio de Freitas classified the accusation as ridiculous and stated he never had contact or relationship with Vorcaro. The governor also stated that Credcesta was accredited in May 2022, suggesting the accusation is unfounded. Kassab also denied any participation in the alleged bribe scheme.
