FC Porto, the current Portuguese champions, will face Académico de Viseu in the quarter-finals of the football League Cup. The match is scheduled for 8:30 PM on October 28, at the Estádio do Dragão in Porto, as announced by the Portuguese Professional Football League (LPFP).
Académico de Viseu finished second in the last edition of the II Liga, thus securing their place in this stage of the competition. This will be the second time the two teams meet this season, after FC Porto's 3-0 victory in the league.
The League Cup will not feature the holders of the trophy, Vitória de Guimarães, who are not participating in this edition of the competition. The quarter-final draw has paired the Porto giants against the second-placed team from the Portuguese second division.
