Roma continue to work the transfer market even after the window closed, focusing on free agents who can still be registered. The Italian club are looking to reinforce the left flank and have Raphael Guerreiro as one of the main options, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Portuguese international, 32 years old, has been free since his contract with Bayern Munich ended. Guerreiro represented the Bavarian club over the last three seasons, after several years at Borussia Dortmund, thus accumulating vast experience at the highest European level.
The former European champion with Portugal saw a move to Benfica favorably, the club of which he is a passionate fan. However, the interest from the Lisbon side was halted, as Marco Silva, Benfica's coach, did not want to sign the player.
