The Diocesan Youth Service of Angra is holding between today and Sunday the II Diocesan Youth Meeting, with two representatives from each audibility of the Diocese and youth pastoral assistants, on the island of Pico.
The meeting aims to be a space for dialogue, sharing and discernment about the main problems affecting young people, with the intention that the young people themselves identify their needs, point out priorities and build solutions, assuming an active role in defining the path of youth ministry in the Diocese.
This meeting reinforces the commitment to a Church that listens to young people, promoting their participation and co-responsibility in the life of communities, also aiming to strengthen the bonds between the different audibilities and encourage the commitment of young people in building a more fraternal and hopeful society.
The main objective of the meeting is to prepare the diocesan initiative Aldeia 2027, with the theme From Hope to Fraternity, scheduled to take place from July 19 to 23 next year, at the Audibility of Povoação, on the island of São Miguel. During the three days, the participants will be called to reflect on the organization of this great diocesan meeting, defining lines of action and proposals that respond to the expectations and challenges of youth, with moments of formation, reflection, prayer and fellowship. The first Diocesan Meeting of Young People of Angra took place in October 2024, at the Episcopal Seminary, in Angra do Heroísmo, on the island Terceira.
