Madeira tries today to place heritage sites in the final of the 7 Wonders

Madeira is today in the race to secure a place among the 21 final candidates of the New 7 Wonders of Portugal. Seven heritage sites from the archipelago represent the region in this national competition.

The National Palace of Sintra is the chosen venue to host the national semi-final of this contest. The event brings together a total of 49 heritage sites from across the country competing for a place in the final vote.

The seven Madeiran representatives face competition from heritage sites from all regions of mainland and island Portugal. The competition aims to elect the new seven wonders of Portuguese heritage.
