Researcher Nikita Melnikov, Assistant Professor of Economics at Nova School of Business & Economics (Nova SBE), has been awarded an ERC Starting Grant by the European Research Council (ERC). The grant amounts to 1.5 million euros.
The study that Melnikov will develop focuses on the economic impact of the end of gangs. This research aims to understand the economic consequences that arise when these types of criminal organizations cease to operate.
ERC Starting Grants are considered prestigious European distinctions aimed at supporting researchers at the beginning of their academic careers, enabling them to finance ambitious research projects with high scientific potential.
