SAPO Notícias4 September 2026 at 08:06

The municipal chambers of Coimbra, Mealhada and Cantanhede intend to create an industrial, logistics and railway corridor in the Central Region of the country. This project aims to boost the area and attract larger-scale investments to the region.

The mayor of Coimbra, Ana Maria Nunes, announced that she will present a candidacy to the PTRR for the creation of a large industrial zone. This manufacturing unit will be located in the Souselas area, in the municipality of Coimbra.

The main objective of this initiative is to host larger projects focused on sustainability. The aim is thus to position the region as an attractive hub for companies looking for locations with good accessibility and environmental commitment.
