The luxury tailoring shop located in the Jardim América neighborhood, in the Jardins region of São Paulo, was visited by Minister André Mendonça, of the Supreme Federal Court (STF), accompanied by lawyer Ciro Soares. Ciro Soares is known for having provided services to Daniel Vorcaro, owner of Banco Master, a financial institution facing serious accusations, including a pyramid scheme that harmed thousands of investors.
The atelier belongs to tailor Vasco Vasconcellos and has been specialized in high-end men's clothing for over three decades. The boutique is frequented by celebrities and businessmen, including TV presenter Fausto Silva, soccer player Alexandre Pato, and historian Leandro Karnal. The custom-made suits offered by the tailoring shop start at R$ 21.9 thousand, potentially exceeding R$ 20 thousand.
Mendonça's visit to the establishment raised questions, as the minister did not clarify details about any order placed at the location and no receipts were presented to prove any transaction. The tailoring shop also did not provide information about any potential order made by the minister or the lawyer.
The case involving Banco Master and Daniel Vorcaro is under investigation, and the connection between Ciro Soares, who worked for Vorcaro, and Mendonça's visit to the tailoring shop has generated media coverage in Brazil.
