The former president of the Vila Nova de Gaia City Council Eduardo Vítor Rodrigues learned this Friday the judicial decision of his case. The mayor, who led the municipality for the PS for twelve years, between 2013 and 2025, faced a trial related to his term.
The Public Prosecutor's Office requested the conviction of Eduardo Vítor Rodrigues to an effective prison sentence of four to six years. This was the recommendation presented by the Public Prosecutor's Office during the trial.
Eduardo Vítor Rodrigues governed Vila Nova de Gaia for more than a decade, having been a relevant figure in Portuguese local politics. His departure from the city hall occurred in 2025, coinciding with the period in which the legal proceedings were taking place.
