The Government bets on autonomous financing as the last bullet of the legislature with the support of Catalonia and the Canary Islands

The Ministry of Finance convened for this Friday, September 4, a new Fiscal and Financial Policy Council (CPFF), the body through which the government meets with the Finance advisors of the autonomous communities, with the hope of finally approving the new Autonomous Financing Law. The government considers this project, which will have to go through the Council of Ministers and Congress, its last card to play in the legislative session on economic matters, given the scarce prospects of being able to approve the General State Budgets. If everything goes as the Executive intends, the new model would come into force from January 1, 2027. The Executive has the support of Catalonia and the Canary Islands to move forward with this initiative.
