Pamesa achieves environmental impact declaration for a new mine in Teruel

El Periódico Mediterráneo - General4 September 2026 at 05:14

Pamesa obtained the environmental impact declaration for a new mine in Teruel. This authorization allows the ceramic company to move forward with the raw material extraction project in the Aragon region, strengthening its production capacity.

The major operators in the ceramic sector from Castellón keep their focus on national mines to guarantee the supply of raw materials. This trend represents a strategic shift in the way sector companies secure the resources necessary for their production.

The process of betting on national mines accelerated in recent years, driven by the war in Ukraine. The conflict significantly altered international supply chains, since a very significant percentage of the clays used by the ceramic sector came from that European country.

France penalizes ultra fast fashion items with up to 12 euros per garment: why Zara, Mango and H&M are not the target

France implemented starting September 1st an additional environmental tax on "ultra fast fashion" items, with penalties ranging from 2 euros per t-shirt, 9 euros per jeans and 12 euros per jacket until 2026, which could reach 19.50 euros per item in 2030, with a cap of 50% of the pre-tax price. The measure aims to discourage the consumption of extremely fast fashion, which has a strong environmental impact, although brands like Zara, Mango and H&M are not directly the main target of this regulation.
