Lito Sousa, 59 years old, was discharged from Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein after three weeks of hospitalization. The influencer will continue treatment for the rare Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease at home, with a structure similar to a hospital environment set up in his residence.
Lito's wife, Mila Seidl, confirmed that the treatment will continue to be specialized to deal with the rare disease, which at this stage is in palliative care. This type of care seeks to provide comfort during treatments and medical follow-ups, without necessarily aiming for a cure.
The family needed to adapt the house to accommodate all the necessary structure. According to Mila, the property does not have sufficient accessibility resources for the new routine. Therefore, doors and the bathroom shower area needed to be removed, in addition to adjustments in the hallways to facilitate Lito's movement.
