Vasco has already decided that it will request again the Maracanã stadium from the Fla-Flu consortium for the home match against Palmeiras, in the Copa do Brasil semifinal. The matches are scheduled for November 1st and 8th, with home advantage to be determined by a draw. The club supports the request based on the Memorandum of Understanding signed with Flamengo and Fluminense, with the consent of Fla-Flu Serviços, which provides for the use of the Maracanã in four matches throughout 2026, subject to stadium availability and operational conditions.
The Copa do Brasil is among the competitions covered by the agreement, and matches against Flamengo and Fluminense do not count toward these four matches. Vasco also argued that any potential refusal for stadium use should be justified by the consortium.
In the quarterfinals against Vitória, Vasco's request was refused due to lack of notice period, as the agreement with the consortium requires that the request be made 15 days in advance. The matter even involved a legal dispute between the parties.
The matchup between Vasco and Palmeiras is one of the Copa do Brasil semifinals, a competition that offers a spot in the Libertadores and a lucrative prize to participants. The draw to determine who will play at home first has not yet been held.
