Diário de Coimbra3 September 2026 at 22:50

The Mediterranean celebrated today at the Closing Ceremony of Taranto 2026, marking the end of the Mediterranean Games in the Italian city. The ceremony took place in a varied concert mode, offering an entertainment spectacle to mark the occasion.

The 2026 edition of the Mediterranean Games thus comes to an end after weeks of sports competitions. Taranto, a port city in southern Italy, hosted these multi-sport games.

During the closing ceremony, the passing of the baton took place for the next edition of the Mediterranean Games. The city of Pristina, in Kosovo, will be the next to host the event, in 2030.

This ceremony symbolizes the end of a Mediterranean sporting cycle and the beginning of the countdown to the Pristina 2030 Games, which, by then, will be the first Olympic Games ever held in Kosovo.
