A tragedy occurred this afternoon at the pump of the Sociedad de Riegos la Casella, in Alzira, Valencia. Two pillars supporting an arbor at the entrance of this old orchard located next to the road to la Solana collapsed, hitting two children.
The injured minors are 9 and 11 years old and are in very serious condition. The children's father, visibly shaken, described the accident to acquaintances who inquired about what happened, simply stating: "It crushed them."
One of the minors was transported to the hospital while the father left the scene. The scenes of pain experienced by family members near the pump highlighted the severity of the accident.
