O Valor Local presents seven suggestions for the weekend of September 4 to 6 in the region covering Azambuja, Benavente, Alenquer, Cartaxo, Vila Franca de Xira, Arruda dos Vinhos and Salvaterra de Magos. The proposals include festivals, gastronomy, sports, wine and tradition.
In Azambuja, Aveiras de Cima hosts Torricado na Vindima, an initiative part of the "Azambuja Terras do Torricado" calendar that brings together the tradition of the grape harvest with torricado, a gastronomic reference of the municipality. In Cartaxo, Pontével celebrates Nossa Senhora do Desterro from September 4 to 8, a festival with over a century of history organized by the people of Pontével who are turning 40 years old.
In the sporting field, Alhandra, in Vila Franca de Xira, hosts the Paratriathlon World Cup and the Portugal Super Sprint Triathlon Cup on September 5 and 6. In Alenquer, Abrigada hosts the II Alenquer Resistance BTT Trophy, Inter Freguesias, a mountain biking competition.
Benavente hosts its fair at the Riverside Zone from September 4 to 13, with gastronomy and Ribatejo entertainment. In Arruda dos Vinhos, Quinta de S. Sebastião promotes a wine tasting. Meanwhile, Salvaterra de Magos proposes the discovery of its heritage, with emphasis on the Royal Falconry, through the quarterly program Viver Salvaterra.
