The old Picadeiro do Exército in Viana do Castelo is being transformed into a Support Center for homeless people. The works have already begun in the space that for years housed the Picadeiro do Exército, associated with the Artillery 5, and later a Sports Pavilion of the Batalhão Caçadores 9.
The new Center is being built in the parish of Monserrate, in a privileged location next to the WestSea Shipyards. This area is in the district of Viana do Castelo, in the northern region of Portugal.
The project represents a new life for a building that had military and sports origins, now being converted to meet a social need. The Support Center aims to provide assistance and shelter to homeless people in the region.
