María Corina Machado, winner of the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize, reacted to the agreement granting the United States control over more than 20% of Venezuela's oil reserves. The Venezuelan opposition leader stated that the "enemies of the US" are at the Miraflores Palace, seat of executive power in Venezuela.

The agreement, which involves Venezuelan oil reserves, comes in a context of political and economic tension in the country. Machado requested that an electoral calendar be established "in parallel" with economic reforms, arguing that the democratization of the country should not be delayed.

The 2025 Nobel Peace Prize winner has been a central figure in opposition to the Venezuelan government, repeatedly denouncing what she considers to be an authoritarian government. Her intervention comes at a time when Venezuela is facing a deep political and economic crisis.
