Traffic on the Beira Baixa Line will resume on September 20, with the reopening of the section between Mouriscas-A and Ródão, which had remained closed due to damage caused by storm Kristin. The information was announced by Infraestruturas de Portugal.
The affected section suffered significant damage caused by the storm, which required the total interruption of traffic on that section of the railway line. Infraestruturas de Portugal was the entity responsible for managing and repairing the damage.
For the recovery and rehabilitation of the section, 3.4 million euros were invested, allowing the necessary works to be carried out to restore rail traffic safely. With this reopening, the Beira Baixa Line is once again operational along its entire length.
