The party Juntos Pelo Povo (JPP) issued a statement warning about the difficulties that the largest tuna vessels in the Madeira Region face in recruiting fishermen. According to the party, this situation represents another warning sign regarding the structural problems affecting the present and future of fishing in Madeira. The JPP considers that the lack of manpower on tuna boats reveals a deeper crisis in the regional fishing sector. This is not the first time the party has drawn attention to the difficulties of the fishing sector in the Autonomous Region of Madeira.
