Alhandra, in the municipality of Vila Franca de Xira, will host on September 5th and 6th two highly relevant sporting events in the triathlon calendar. On Saturday, September 5th, at 10:30 AM, the town will welcome a stage of the World Paratriathlon Cup, integrated into the international circuit of the sport, bringing together some of the best athletes in the world in the specialty. On Sunday, September 6th, at 11:00 AM, a stage of the Portugal Triathlon Cup will take place in Alhandra for the first time, in the Super Sprint format, a highly intense competition bringing together athletes from various regions of the country.
The races will take place in the riverside area and along the riverside promenade of Alhandra, offering a privileged setting both for the sporting practice and for spectators. Hundreds of athletes and representatives from various countries are expected throughout the weekend.
The events are organized by the Municipal Council of Vila Franca de Xira, in partnership with the Portuguese Triathlon Federation and Alhandra Sporting Clube. The municipality states that this commitment reaffirms its dedication to the sporting development of the territory, investing in competitions of high competitive level that aim to attract athletes, technical teams, families and visitors, simultaneously contributing to the economic revitalization and promotion of the region.
