Burnham warns Macron about the impact of the made in EU agenda on the British economy

The Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron met at Downing Street to discuss Anglo-European relations in the post-Brexit context. During the meeting, the Labour leader expressed London's desire to move closer to the European Union.

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, warned Macron about the risks that the "made in EU" agenda poses for the British economy. Khan argued that European local content policies could harm important sectors of the United Kingdom's economy.

The talks between the two leaders focused on the possibility of re-establishing a closer relationship between the United Kingdom and the European Union after years of tension since Brexit. The meeting comes at a time when Starmer is seeking to strengthen ties with European partners.

Macron and Starmer also discussed defense and security issues, as well as cooperation on immigration matters. This meeting marks a bilateral effort to improve diplomatic relations between the United Kingdom and France.
