Diesel drops 4.8 cents and gasoline increases 2.3 in Madeira

SAPO Notícias3 September 2026 at 18:18

Fuel prices in Madeira will undergo changes starting Monday. Diesel will register a drop of 4.8 cents per liter, while gasoline will suffer an increase of 2.3 cents.

These changes represent a divergence in the price trend of the two types of fuel in the autonomous region. Drivers who use diesel will benefit from this reduction, unlike gasoline vehicle owners who will see their fuel costs increase.

The entry into force of the new prices is scheduled for Monday, when Madeira's fuel stations will begin applying the new values at their pumps.

The autonomous region of Madeira, as a Portuguese island territory, has autonomy in defining some aspects of fuel tax policy, which allows the application of differentiated prices compared to mainland Portugal.
