BC evaluates connecting Pix with European payment system

extra3 September 2026 at 20:22

The Central Bank of Brazil (BC) is in negotiations to connect Pix to Europe's instant payment system, TIPS. The possible connection is in an initial phase called "pre-investigation," with "high-level" participation from different areas, including operational, security, technical, and legal. The information was revealed by newspaper Folha de S.Paulo and confirmed by EXTRA.

The current stage began in June last year and is expected to end this month. After this phase, according to a document from the European Central Bank (ECB), two more stages would still be needed: exploration and implementation. The BC was contacted for comments but did not respond.

In the Pix Management Report 2023-2025, published in August, the monetary authority had already stated that it is evaluating the connection of Pix with instant payment systems from other jurisdictions. This can occur both through bilateral models, such as the initiative with the ECB, and through participation in multilateral hubs, such as Nexus.

Author of 'Rich Dad, Poor Dad' has accumulated debt of about one billion euros

Robert Kiyosaki, author of the bestseller 'Rich Dad, Poor Dad', revealed he has accumulated debt of approximately one billion euros, which he classifies as "good debt". According to Kiyosaki, this debt is the result of loans strategically used to acquire assets, generate passive income, reduce tax burden and increase net worth. The author argues that the distinction between good and bad debt depends on purpose: while bad debt serves to consume goods that lose value, good debt functions as an investment tool and wealth creation mechanism.
