A vegetation fire broke out in Felgueiras, in the Porto district, affecting the parishes of Margaride (Santa Eulália), Várzea, Lagares, Varziela and Moure. The fire has been classified as being in the resolution phase by the competent authorities.
The fire, of an urban and vegetation nature, consumed scrubland in the affected area. The causes of the fire have not yet been disclosed.
The firefighting operations mobilised seven operatives and two ground resources, in a coordinated effort to control the flames. No aerial resources were needed in fighting the fire.
The authorities reported that the fire was in the resolution phase, which indicates that the situation was being controlled and expected to be declared extinguished shortly.
