The rescued migrants were 38 men and one woman, none of them requiring medical assistance after the rescue.
Portugal integrates this European border surveillance mission coordinated by Frontex, the European Border and Coast Guard Agency.
The operation falls under the control and surveillance missions of the European Union's maritime borders.
