Vila do Conde will host on September 5 at the Pavilhão Municipal de Desportos the Placard Futsal Super Cups, men's and women's, marking the official start of the 2026/27 season. The Portuguese Football Federation's choice of the municipality represents recognition of the council's organizational capacity and reinforces its connection to sport.
The highlight of the day goes to the classic clash between Benfica and Sporting, scheduled for 9 PM. Benfica, the national champion, will face Sporting, the national runner-up and defeated Cup of Portugal finalist, in a duel that promises to bring together some of the best players in national and world futsal.
Before the men's match, at 4:30 PM, the women's Super Cup takes place with Benfica, also the national champion, facing GCR Nun'Álvares, the national runner-up and defeated Cup of Portugal finalist.
Both finals will be broadcast live on Canal 11, placing Vila do Conde at the center of the sport at the start of the new futsal season.
